Wild Ready To Rock In Reds’ Revival

Ambitious Salford City Reds have further bolstered their ranks for next season and beyond with the signing of Great Britain International forward Stephen Wild from Huddersfield Giants on a three year deal. Wild, who can play back row or in the centres joins other newcomers Luke Patten, Chris Nero and Vinnie Anderson, with more big names still to follow.

The Reds have undertaken a huge team rebuilding excercise for their final season at The Willows in 2011 and are determined to make an impact in next season’s competition before moving across the city to their new home adjacent to The Trafford Centre in Barton.

Director of Football Steve Simms said: “It’s becoming a regular thing to say at the moment but Stephen Wild is another great signing for this club next year. He has tremendous mobility and has a very strong all-round game that will suit what we are trying to achieve here in 2011 and beyond.

“We are building what will be a highly competitive squad over the coming seasons and the people of Salford and the wider region, be they current fans, lapsed supporters or completely new to the sport will have something they can be proud of watching in a state of the art facility.”

The 29-year-old former Wigan St Pats amateur started his professional career at Wigan and played there for five years before switching to the Giants in 2006.
