Draw Deadline Extended Until Monday!

This week’s Members’ Only draw for a shirt named, numbered and signed by the winner’s favourite player will take place on Monday to give fans the maximum opportunity to buy over the weekend. New Shirt Unveiling Sparks Season Ticket Surge

Reaction to the reveal of the spectacular 2010 away shirt has surpassed all expectations, with sales of Family Memberships and Season Tickets racing ahead in the last seven days. Dissenting voices have been few and far between, with the new design receiving almost unanimous acclaim from the fashion conscious Reds faithful and fans are now rushing to ensure they secure theirs before stock is gone.

The club today urged fans not to delay if they want to be guaranteed a particular size, with remaining numbers of some adult sizes (in particular XL and XXL) already starting to run dangerously low!

Reds Snap Up Bulldogs’ Holdsworth

Salford City Reds have swooped to capture the signature of Canterbury Bulldogs Utility Daniel Holdsworth for the 2010 season.

25-year-old Holdsworth has agreed to come to The Willows and will join the Reds subject to work permit approval and will link up with his new team-mates once the paperwork has been finalised.

We’re delighted. For his age Daniel has played a lot of games in the NRL. He’s a great playmaker who can play at six, seven, nine or thirteen and he’s also an excellent field and goalkicker

Director of Football Steve Simms said: “We’re delighted. For his age Daniel has played a lot of games in the NRL. He’s a great playmaker who can play at six, seven, nine or thirteen and he’s also an excellent field and goalkicker. He hasn’t had the chance to show that at Canterbury because he is behind El Masri but we will certainly take a look at that option.

“His all-round game is quality and we can’t wait for him to get over here with us and join what has been a great start to pre-season.”

Holdsworth has played 70 games for the Doggies, scoring 13 tries and kicking five goals, having previously played for St George Illawarra.

Reds fans are reminded that the Early Bird deal for membership and season tickets closes on 30 November.

First Fixture Change Of The Year

Salford City Reds can confirm that the away fixture at Harlequins RL scheduled for Saturday 13th March has now been switched to Sunday 14 March, KO 3pm.

The Reds will now have an extra day to prepare after they take on Catalans Dragons on 5 March.

Reds To Face Old Enemy In Edinburgh

Salford City Reds have been drawn against Challenge Cup winners Warrington Wolves in their Magic Weekend to to be played in Edinburgh on the first weekend of May 2010. It will be the second time in a few weeks the Reds will come against former starlet Richie Myler as the team’s clash at the Halliwell Jones on Good Friday.
