McRae’s Boys Look To Cut the French Mustard
April 16, 2009 by Paul Mc
Reds’ head Coach Shaun McRae prepares to take his charges across the Channel to Perpignon on Friday to take on the Catalans Dragon in Round 10 of the engage Super League,on the back of three consecutive wins against tough opposition.
“It was a huge bonus to win both games over Easter. I said beforehand that most teams are happy to win just one of the games, but there were actually a few including ourselves that picked up two wins.
“Now it’s important for players to continue their belief. There is no doubt they are better players than some people have made them out to be in the early part of the season and now we are beginning to see that,” he said.
Even McRae had been surprised at the response from his side, boosted by two wins already before Easter Monday.
“In truth I was probably thinking I’d need to rest four or five players after Good Friday for the Leeds game, but we actually pulled up very well after Warrington. In fact, they turned up for training fresher than they had the week before after we had beaten Hull so they made my decisions easy.
“Richie Myler is a great example of that. I thought he was going to need a break because it’s very hard for an 18 year old number 7 to turn up and play well week in week out, but Richie convinced me he was fine and the rest is a little bit of history,” McRae concluded.
The Reds have one final training session and pre-match press conference at The Willows ahead of the game at the Dragons (KO 5pm BST)

bad move i would rest a few players not that many we dont need to win this but if we do we will be on a wining streek and will be closer to the playoffs. if we lose and the other two teams on the same points as us wins we will be stuck near the bottom
In present form I see no reason why the Reds can’t beat the French on Saturday night.
We’ve won in France before and this season the Dragons are very much a hot and cold side, here’s hoping it’s not too warm on Saturday night.
GOOD LUCK S.C.R.
