Big Match Build-Up, Willows Style
April 9, 2009 by Paul Mc
The Easter fixtures get underway with a bang on Good Friday at The Willows and, while the main event kicks off at 3pm between the Reds and the Wolves, there are plenty of reasons to arrive early to take your place as what is expected to be the biggest crowd of the season pack into the stadium ahead of the game.
The Willows Fans Bar opens its doors at 1.30pm and will remain open until 6.30pm with the now usual “When the Hooter Blows the Drinks Flow” promotion kicking in on the stroke of full-time and selected drinks prices crashing down to just £1.90 a pint.
Pre-match and half-time entertainment will include the UK Champion Cheerleaders the Flames, in action for the first time since winning yet another bagful of awards at the UK National Championships last weekend, our mascot Ignito strutting his stuff, and a fantastic singing performance from Danielle Hobson, winner of the Taylor’s Search For a Star Competition in 2006 and Blackpool’s Search for a Star 2007.
On a more solomn note, our special guests for the afternoon will be Donna and Steve, the parents of Leon Walker and there will be a One Minute Silence held in Leon’s honour prior to kick-off.
