Flames Are UK Champions Once More
March 30, 2009 by Paul Mc
Salford City Reds Cheerleaders have been in action over the weekend, with plenty of success stories to report the UKCA National Cheerleading Championships held at the Manchester Velodrome.
For the fourth year running the Red Hot Flames took first place in the Cheer Dance category with the Red Hot Sparklers also following suit in their age category, meanwhile the Mini Flames took first place in the Pom Dance Championships
With more than 2000 cheerleaders participating in the weekend event, the girls beat off stiff competition and showed skill, determination and teamwork, to make Coach Suzanne Roberts proud.
“The achievements and performance levels the girls delivered in the competition this year were once again breathtaking,” said Suzanne
“With more challenges on the horizon over the next few months, the girls have made a great start and the results are testament to their hard work and commitment.”
The Red Hot Flames and Sparklers have now been invited to represent the UK at the European Championships in Sweden in July; however the Flames will first travel to Florida where they will participate in the ICU World Championships in April.
