Leon Walker 1988-2009 – Condolences

Salford City Reds today open an online Book of Condolence for former Academy star Leon Walker, who died tragically while playing for Wakefield Wildcats on Sunday.

Leon was a popular player with coaches and team-mates and we would like supporters to leave their messages of support and sympathy for Leon’s family and we will pass them on when we close the book on Friday.

Former coach and now Head of the Reds’ Youth Development programme Alan Hunte said: “This is devastating news. Having had a personal relationship as coach and player with Leon you form ties you hope will last a lifetime, and you don’t expect them to be cut so short. I’d like to send my deepest condolences to his mum, dad and the rest of his family.”

The Club will hold One Minute’s Silence ahead of the Varsity clash between the Universities of Salford and Manchester at The Willows on Tuesday evening (7.30pm)
