Young Reds Ready for International Action

Two of Salford City Reds first team squad will be representing their country tonight (Friday) as the England Under 17’s take on the Australian Institute of sport at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington.
Richie Myler and Jason Walton played on opposite teams in the state of Origin game earlier this year but will be joining ranks to represent their country in the first of two matches
Junior Academy Coach, Alan Hunte said: “It’s great to have representation in the England 17’s and goes well for the two players next season in the Reds first team squad. With an up and coming tour to Australia both players will look to securing a place down under next summer and it would be great to get even more players into recognition.”

Reds Hit the Catwalk

Salford City Reds’ stars Lee Jewiit, Luke Ambler, Ste Bannister and Jordan Turner have been wowing audiences as part of the Trafford Centre’s prestigeous Fashion Week fashion shows. The young Reds will once again take to the stage in The Orient at the centre on Sunday hanging off the arm of a beautiful model, modelling clothes from John Lewis.

Junior Reds Christmas Party 2008
Salford City Reds are pleased to announce that this year’s annual Junior Reds Christmas Party will be held on Monday 3 December at The Willows (7pm).
Players will be in attendance as well as a special visit from Santa Claus. Each child will get a gift and there are 12 great chances to win a VIP trip for a family of four to the Lowry Theatre to see this year’s Pantomine, Dick Whittington, starring the one and only Chesney Hawkes.
Tickets for the party are priced at £2 per child and must be bought in advance from the Club Shop.All children must be accompanyied by an adult.Money cannot be taken on the night of the event.
Trio Complete Reds Squad

Salford City Reds can today confirm the signings of James Jiminez, Damien Reid and Paul White who complete the 27 man squad for the Reds 2008 season.
Signed from St George Illawarra, Sheffield Eagles and Wakefield Trinity respectively, all three players have signed one year contracts with Reid and White attending training this week and Jiminez expected to arrive in Manchester next month.
Head Coach, Shaun McRae, said: “We believe the addition of these final three players will enable our squad to achieve everything that we have set out to do in the 2008 season. We have recruited well in the off-season and have a remarkable blend of youth and experience. The guys are back in training now and we are all looking forward to getting down to business in February.”

Highton Re-signs for 2008

Salford City Reds long serving, prop forward Paul Highton has signed a new one year contract, which will keep him at the Willows for his testimonial year.
The former Welsh international returns to training this week and will be a welcome boost to Shaun McRae’s squad in 2008.
Head Coach Shaun McRae, said: “Paul is a great warrior for the club and the game of rugby league and will provide us with that go forward attitude for next season. I am delighted that he is staying with the Reds and will celebrate his testimonial here at the Willows.”
Meanwhile Lee Jewitt and Stephen Nash have also both resigned for the Reds on one year contracts.
