Coley Lines Up Down Under
October 12, 2006 by Paul Mc
With Salford City Reds prop forward Andy Coley’s feet now firmly rooted on Australian soil, we managed to catch up with him briefly before he left England for sunnier climes.
Delighted to have learnt that he will now stay with the Great Britain team throughout the whole Tri Nations tournament, to replace the injured Paul Johnson, Coley was in buoyant mood before his departure saying,
“I’m absolutely delighted to be representing the GB squad and this is a great honour not only for me, but for all the players and coaching staff at Salford City Reds. I’m looking forward to the warm up game and am just going to give it my best shot.”
Reds winger David Hodgson joined Andy on the flight to Australia early last Tuesday morning and both will start on the bench against Newcastle on today (20 October) before Hodgson is due to head back home shortly after.
The first Great Britain game will take place on Saturday 28 October with the team taking on New Zealand in Christchurch.
