Many thanks to all who came along to our Junior Reds Christmas Party at The Willows on Wedsnesday.
We had a great response and it was terrific to see the room full of both parents and children.
Thanks also to all the players who helped make the night and were such good sports, even though they had some heavy training to do early the next day.
As we promised after the Junior Reds Awards Evening in Spetember we see the youngsters as the future of the club and we’ll be putting on many more events such as this over the next 12 months so watch this space. For now we’ll leave you with the best images from last night.

Reds Launch Sporting Enterprise
November 23, 2005 by Paul Mc · Comments Off
Salford City Reds, the only professional sports club in the City of Salford, has worked on a huge number of ground breaking community initiatives within the city and across the North West over the last 15 years.
This work has culminated in the development of the innovative Sporting Enterprise course.
The latest government legislation relating to enterprise dictates that from 2006 onwards each Key Stage Four pupils will have to have five days a year enterprise study time.
Salford City Reds in conjunction with Salford University, Pendleton College, Open College Network, Salford LEA, Salford PCT and a number of large businesses have created the 30 hour ‘Sporting Enterprise: tackling business’ course.
The course will see pupils learn new skills relating to business and sport, with two qualifications at the end. The Junior Rugby League Organisers Award will provide pupils with the skills to organise festivals and referee games. The Open College Network qualification in Sporting Enterprise is recognised by the city’s colleges and will be a useful addition to any pupils C.V.
Every participating high school will create a business along the lines of Salford City Reds. Pupils will learn about the structure of the club before conducting real business by selling merchandise and tickets for the club. Each business within the school will be incentive driven as they receive a large percentage of moneys they take.
Furthermore each high school cohort will provide a coaching service (having been taught to do so by the club) to their feeder primary schools. This will strengthen links form primary school to high school and decrease the stress for primary school pupils. High school pupils will in turn attend business seminars at Pendleton College and Salford University to encourage them to attend higher education
In 2005 there will be 200 high school pupils taking part in the scheme. This equates to 10 high schools and subsequently 52 feeder primary schools. We have kept the scheme to the city of Salford for this initial pilot year but have already established links to take the scheme into Manchester, Bury and beyond for 2006.

Debenhams To Sell News Reds’ Shirt Exclusively This Weekend
November 4, 2005 by Paul Mc · Comments Off
Having experienced a phenomenal level of interest from supporters regarding the 2006 shirt launch this Saturday, the club has decided to sell the new kit exclusively from Debenhams in the Trafford Centre this weekend.
With the initial batch of stock being rushed into the country from Australia it was felt that to provide the best possible customer service as well as maximising potential sales, launching at the high-profile venue was the ideal opportunity for supporters to get in a little quality shopping before Great Britain’s Tri Nation clash with Australia at the JJB.
Don’t forget City Reds’ stars Andy Coley and Anthony Stewart, along with the Club Chairman John Wilkinson OBE will be at the store to officially launch the shirt and the players will be there for autograph and photo opportunities until midday.
Reds’ supporters please note that the shirts will be on a first come first served basis so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Samples of the kit will also be available to pre-order in the Club Shop if fans can’t make it to the Trafford Centre and the new Ladies’ and Toddlers kits will be on show for the first time.
Paul Highton and Stuart Littler will be at the Club Shop to sign autographs until midday and every fan pre-ordering a shirt or buying a Season Ticket at the shop will receive a free Super League cap.
The first customer over the threshold at the Club Shop will win a signed ball and get their photograph taken with the players.
We look forward to seeing you.
